Sika Singapore had the privilege of connecting with students and lecturers from the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) College East’s Nitec in Urban Greenery and Landscape and Work Study Diploma in Arboriculture and Horticulture programs.

The session highlighted Sika’s Urban Greenery and Landscaping Solutions through real project case studies, highlighting the relevance of these solutions to the industry.

Magdalene Lim, Sales Executive, began the session with an overview of Sika’s Green Infrastructure portfolio, covering Green Roof, Green Wall, and Turf Stabilisation systems. She highlighted how these solutions contribute to sustainable urban development by enhancing stormwater management, promoting biodiversity, and creating more resilient and liveable city environments.

Building on this, Beng Wee Tan, Sales Executive, introduced Sika’s Outdoor Raised Flooring systems. He explained how these systems enhance drainage, accessibility, and flexibility in landscape and urban public space designs and illustrated their practical benefits with project examples, demonstrating durability and aesthetic integration with surrounding landscapes.

The session concluded with an in-depth presentation by Fred Lee, Manager, UG Local, on On-site Stormwater Detention and Tree Root Management systems. He emphasised their critical role in mitigating urban flooding risks, supporting healthier root development, and promoting sustainable landscape design practices in Singapore’s built environment.

Sika Singapore hopes these sessions will inspire the next generation to embrace innovative urban greenery solutions and integrate sustainable practices into their future projects, helping shape greener, more liveable cities.
