Sika Singapore held its annual Safety & Quality Day, bringing together staff from across departments to reaffirm our commitment to building a safe, reliable, and high-performing workplace. The event began with an evacuation fire drill, reinforcing preparedness for emergencies.
APAC Regional Manager, Philippe Jost and Sika Singapore General Manager, Jacqueline Ng addressed the team, reminding everyone that safety and quality are continuous commitments – not one-off efforts.
Staff then participated in a practical fire safety session led by Eric Ee from a Workplace Safety & Health, Environmental and Quality (WSHEQ) consultancy, training and auditing company, learning to identify hazards, operate extinguishers effectively, and respond with confidence in emergency situations. This was followed by an engaging “Everyday Safety Sharing”, where colleagues exchanged real-life experiences and tips for maintaining a safe workplace.
Song Ren Yeo introduced the theme for Safety Day: “Safety Starts with You”, emphasizing that safety is everyone's responsibility —not merely an obligation, but a reflection of the care we have for one another.
Similarly, Wee Tze Ng unveiled the theme for Quality Day: “Quality Starts with Me – Do It Right the First Time”. He emphasized that taking ownership and ensuring work is done correctly from the outset drives higher-quality products and improved customer satisfaction.
The event concluded with the Safety and Quality Pledge Signing, as participants reaffirmed their personal commitment to uphold these values every day.
More than a just series of activities, Safety & Quality Day was a powerful reminder that prioritizing safety and quality builds trust, strengthens teamwork, and drives excellence. By staying vigilant, adhering to standards, and looking out for one another, we ensure that safety and quality remain at the heart of Sika Singapore’s success.
