WHITE SKIM COAT FOR WALLS & CEILINGS

SikaWall®-110 Skim is a high quality white skim coat material when mixed with water, produces a smooth and creamy texture for repairing surface defects in concrete or render. A smooth surface finish is achieved by removing imperfections like grooves, seams, fine cracks, and rock pockets.

Application steps

SURFACE PREPARATION

The substrate must be clean, sound, dust-free and without any traces of oil, laitance, paint or curing compound. Scrap off any loose paint coating.

Moisten the substrate with water prior to application to minimize absorption.

MIXING

Mix thoroughly using an electrical high speed mixer, until the material is homogeneous without any lumps.

Leave the mixture to stand for several minutes before using.

APPLICATION

  • Apply mortar with a stainless steel trowel or float.
  • Depending on the desired finish, one or more coats may be applied.
  • The surface of SikaWall®-110 Skim can be sanded after it has fully cured.
  • During curing, it is important to shield the work area from direct sunlight and strong wind to prevent rapid or excessive moisture loss.
 

CURING TREATMENT

As all cement-based material, curing with water is recommended for several days to prevent shrinkage cracking due to rapid moisture loss, especially if the applied area is exposed to hot and harsh weather.
