SikaWall®-168 Render Coarse

PREMIUM GRADE PREMIXED CEMENTITIOUS COARSE RENDER

SikaWall®-168 Render Coarse is a premium grade high performance premixed plastering material that is specially formulated with low carbon footprint to minimise the impact on the environment. It provides superior bonding to concrete substrate and brickwork surfaces. SikaWall®-168 Render Coarse comprises of Ordinary Portland Cement, polymers, graded sands, approved recycled materials and chemical additives to provide a durable plaster for both internal and external use. SikaWall®-168 Render Coarse is approved by the Eco-labelling authority in Singapore as a sustainable building material.

Usage

SikaWall®-168 Render Coarse is an extremely versatile material, highly recommended for bedding, pointing brickwork and blockwork, backing and bedding for wall tiles.   It is also recommended for internal and external plastering. SikaWall®-168 Render Coarse is suitable for all types of concrete substrate, lightweight autoclaved aerated blocks, brickwall and blockwall.

Application steps

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

Remove all dust, oil or traces of foreign materials. Dampen the dry concrete or plastered surface before application of SikaWall®-168 Render Coarse.

SikaWall®-168 Render Coarse is not a structural repair material so it should not be used to patch and level concrete surface that is out of alignment.

MIXING

Mix thoroughly using an electrical mixer or a paddle mixer for 3 - 5 minutes until the desired homogeneous mortar paste is achieved. Ensure the mix is free from lumps before use.

 

APPLICATION

SikaWall®-168 Render Coarse is applied using a steel trowel or spraying machine. It will remain workable for approximately 40 - 60 minutes after mixing. The first coat should have application thickness not exceeding 8 mm. After curing under shaded ambient conditions for 4 hours, the second coat is applied. The maximum application thickness for each layer is 15 mm.

CURING TREATMENT

In hot ambient temperature, the plaster should be cured with water spray during the first 2 days, for better shrinkage control.
