HIGH QUALITY CEMENTITIOUS SKIM COAT

SikaWall®-198 Skimplas is a high quality cementitious skim coat with a lower embodied carbon footprint and is approved by the Eco-labelling authority in Singapore as a sustainable building material. SikaWall®-198 Skimplas  is able to cover up minor pinholes in the concrete or plaster substrates, conceals hairline cracks and provides a smooth and durable surface finish. It gives excellent workability for easy and smooth trowelling on both vertical and overhead surfaces.

Usage

SikaWall®-198 Skimplas is ideal for skimming onto most types of concrete substrate like lightweight concrete slabs, plastered wall surfaces and ceilings.

Application steps

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

Remove all dust, oil or traces of foreign materials. Dampen the dry concrete or plastered surface before application of SikaWall®-198 Skimplas.

MIXING

Mix thoroughly with an electric mixer for 3 - 5 minutes to yield a homogeneous paste that is ready to use.

 

APPLICATION

Apply SikaWall®-198 Skimplas with a steel trowel and finish with a soft hairbrush or trowel-smooth the surface. For application with several layers, ensure the layer underneath is dry before applying the next layer. SikaWall®-198 Skimplas can be applied up to a maximum total thickness is 6 mm.

CURING TREATMENT

During curing, it is important to shield the work area from direct sunlight and strong wind to prevent rapid or excessive moisture loss.
