SikaCeram®-288 Super TTB

PREMIUM GRADE FLEXIBLE CEMENT-BASED TILE ADHESIVE WITH ANTI-SLIP (C2S1E)

SikaCeram®-288 Super TTB is a premium grade, flexible, tile adhesive for fixing of vitrified, porcelain, monocuttura, marble, slate and ceramic tiles. SikaCeram®-288 Super TTB is classified as C2S1E when tested in accordance to BS EN 12004-2 : 2017.

  • Its anti slip property enables easy installation of tiles on walls in both interior and exterior applications.
  • Highly water resistant, for wet areas such as concrete swimming pools and spas.

Usage

  • Used for external pavers, tiles or stones subject to traffic.
  • Installation of tiles on drywall, concrete, cement render and concrete blockwork and rendered brickwork.
  • Can be used in both interior and exterior application.

Application steps

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

All surfaces must be structurally sound, dry, clean and free from movement, oil, grease, wax and other contaminants. Painted surfaces must be scabbled to expose at least 75% of clean surface. Expansion joints coinciding with joints in the substrate should be incorporated at the design stage at a maximum of 5 m spacings and must not be tiled over.

Newly rendered surfaces must be allowed to cure for at least 7 days. Very porous surfaces should be primed with a primer such as Sikalastic®-500 Acrylic Primer AP. Steel trowel finished concrete must be acid-etched or wire-brushed prior to tiling.

MIXING

Add SikaCeram®-288 Super TTB to a pail of clean water, mixing constantly until a thick creamy consistency is achieved. Allow the mixture to stand for 5 - 10 minutes, remix, then use the adhesive.

APPLICATION

Spread the adhesive onto the substrate using either a 6 mm x 6 mm to 12 mm x 12 mm notched trowel for wall tiling, or a 12 mm x 12 mm to 20 mm x 20 mm notched trowel for floor tiling. The choice of the trowel should be governed by the size of the tiles, depth of knobs, grooves or ridges on the back of the tiles and the evenness of the substrate.

A 6 mm x 6 mm notched trowel can be used to lay mosaic tiles.

Spread approximately 1.2 - 1.5 m² at one time.

Ensure that there are no voids under the tiles.

CLEANING OF TOOLS

Clean all tools and application equipment with water immediately after use. Hardened material can only be mechanically removed.
