• For absorptive wall and floor tiles, mixing ratio is 40kg of SikaCeram®-88 Reno to approximately 10.4 – 11.6 litres of water.
• For non absorptive wall and floor tiles, mix 40kg of SikaCeram®-88 Reno with approximately 10.4 – 11.6 litres of SikaLatex®-88 Reno, (diluted 1:1 with water by volume,) for enhanced bond strength.

Using 6 mm x 6 mm notched trowel, approximately 3.5 kg/m².
Using 12 mm x 12 mm notched trowel, approximately 7.0 kg/m².
Using 20 mm x 20 mm notched trowel, approximately 11.9 kg/m²

Substrate must be clean, sound, dust-free and free of all traces of oil, grease, wax and other contaminants. Substrate must not be running with water, or frozen. Newly rendered surfaces must be allowed to sufficiently cure before commencement of tiling. Very porous surfaces should be primed with Sikalastic®-500 Acrylic Primer AP.

• Spread the adhesive onto the substrate using either a 6 mm x 6 mm to 12 mm x 12 mm notched trowel for wall tiling, or a 12 mm x 12 mm to 20 mm x 20 mm notched trowel for floor tiling.
• The choice of the trowel should be governed by the size of the tiles, depth of knobs, grooves or ridges on the back of the tiles and the evenness of the substrate.
• A 6 mm x 6 mm notched trowel is recommended for mosaic tiles.
• Thicker bed of adhesive allow for better contact to the substrate as well as picking up unevenness especially in the case of slates.
• Spread approximately 1.2 - 1.5 m² at one time.
• Ensure that the adhesive is wet when the tiles are laid and tapped into position to ensure positive contact with the adhesive.

• Ensure that there are no voids under the tiles.
• Do not allow the adhesive to skin over prior to tiling.
• It is important to butter coat the back of the tiles to improve adhesion and avoid hollowness especially for large format tiles and tiles with grooves and ridges.
• Press tile firmly and immediately with a twisting action into freshly combed mortar.
• Tap and beat tile into place to obtain 100 percent contact between tile and mortar bed with no voids in the mortar.
• Obtaining full contact with rib-backed tile require back-buttering a layer of mortar on back of each tile prior to placing on the mortar bed.

GROUTING AFTER TILE INSTALLATION
Wait at least 24 hours before grouting. Do not grout if tiles still moves (see SikaCeram®-658 Coloured Grout CFG) data sheet for proper procedure to grouting.

Clean tools and equipment with water before the product sets.
