TWO-COMPONENT, EPOXY-BASED GROUT WITH HIGH-QUALITY, COLORFUL FILLERS

SikaCeram®-855 is a two-component textured sanded epoxy grout formulated with advanced polymers and premium colored sand particles. This product features a refined, sand-textured finish available in a range of vibrant colors and provides a striking appearance after curing. It is ideal for grouting and edge sealing of most types of ceramic tiles, mosaics, stone, glass, and aluminum-plastic panels, making it suitable for wet rooms areas such as kitchens and bathrooms. It is not suitable for external applications.

Application steps

APPLICATION

  • The width of the joint should be no less than 2 mm to have good decorative effect.
  • The surface (especially the tile joint) should be clean, dry, free of oil, dust debris residue.
  • Wax the tile surface before the grout application for removing the residue of grout easily after application.
  • Open and put SikaCeram®-855 into the special labour-saving grout gun and ensure its bayonets of both sides have been snapped into the grout gun slot.
  • Press the grout gun to discharge the air of the two components until both are discharged at the same time. install a special nozzle after cleaning the remaining materials.
  • Cut the nozzle along a 45 angle, the width of the incision should be consistent with the width of the tile joint.
 
  • Discard the mixed grout about 30 cm long at the front end to prevent uneven mixing of the two components from affecting the quality of the joints before grouting. Apply with a well-mixed grout.
  • Apply grout along the tile joints, ensuring an even and uniform fill. Avoid long pauses during application, as this can cause the grout to solidify in the nozzle. Replace the nozzle if necessary before continuing.
  • Press, smooth and straighten the grouting strip with tungsten steel joint blade.
  • Immediately clean any spilled grout from the tile surface using a damp cloth or sponge. After 8 hours at room temperature, remove any remaining grout with a sharp scrapper. In winter, allow for a longer cleaning time due to lower temperatures.
  • Extending the cleaning time in winter with it is low temperature.
  • Allow the grout to cure for 24 hours at 20 - 30 °C before touching or allowing traffic.
