NEW GENERATION SUPERPLASTICIZING ADMIXTURE FOR LIGHTWEIGHT CONCRETE

Sika® ViscoCrete® ACE 8560 LW is an innovative polycarboxylic ether (PCE) based superplasticiser specially developed and formulated for producing lightweight concrete of density less than 2200kg/m3. Sika® ViscoCrete® ACE 8560 LW is specifically tailored for excellent dispersion of cement and workability retention at normal to low water binder ratio.

Usage

Sika® ViscoCrete® ACE 8560 LW accelerates cement hydration by allowing an increased surface area of cement particles to react with water. As a result, it is possible to achieve rapid development of hydration products thus higher strength at early age. The polymer structure of Sika® ViscoCrete® ACE 8560 LW is specially designed to improve the rheology of lightweight concrete, making it flowable at low viscosity, even at low water cement ratio.
Sika® ViscoCrete® ACE 8560 LW is specially formulated for use with lightweight aggregates to achieve required concrete density and strength class. Sika® ViscoCrete® ACE 8560 LW enables a homogenous mixture which keep the lightweight aggregates from separating from the cement paste mixture.
Sika® ViscoCrete® ACE 8560 LW is free of chloride and is compatible with all cements meeting recognised international standards.

Recommended Dosage

Dosage of Sika® ViscoCrete® ACE 8560 LW depends on mix design, ambient temperature conditions and degree of water reduction and workability required. The recommended dosage rate is 0.5 to 2.5 litres per 100 kg of binder. Other dosages may also be used depending on the specific working conditions. Trial mixes should be made with job materials to determine the optimum dosage required for a specified job requirement.
Application steps

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Sika® ViscoCrete® ACE 8560 LW is suitable for making lightweight concrete with highly workable, non-segregating concrete utilizing low water cement ratios and, consequently, high early and final strengths. It is highly recommended that Sika® ViscoCrete® ACE 8560 LW to be used in combination with Sika® Stabilizer VMA 362 for producing advanced self-compacting concrete. This will result in minimal or no compaction, faster placing thus, achieving economic, ecological and ergonomic concrete production.

MIXING

Sika® ViscoCrete® ACE 8560 LW is a liquid admixture to be added to the concrete during the mixing process. Best results are obtained when the admixture is added after all the other components are already in the mixer and after the addition of at least 80% of the total water.
