SikaTop®-121 PC

POLYMER-MODIFIED CEMENTITIOUS MORTAR FOR SPALLING CONCRETE & STRUCTURAL PATCH REPAIR

SikaTop®-121 PC is a premium repair mortar with high compressive strength to reinstate the integrity of concrete. SikaTop®-121 PC is a two-component, polymer modified cementitious mortar which only needs mixing of the two parts as supplied, without adding water, thus eliminating any error of site mixing.

  • Simple to use: Materials are prepacked and pre-weighed to reduce errors on site mixing.
  • Thixotropic: Allows easy trowel application thereby enabling high build application thickness on both vertical and horizontal substrates.
  • Non-shrink: Eliminates considerably cracking and debonding from substrates
  • Consistent quality: No water is required or allowed for dilution, maintaining constant quality in every batch.   
  • Water resistance: Dense matrix provides very high water resistance.

Usage

SikaTop®-121 PC is a versatile material suitable for many uses:
  •  As a repair medium for concrete or cementitious surfaces damaged by chemical erosion, impact or spalling because of corrosion of reinforcement.
  • For the patching of cracks, blowholes, and honeycombs of concrete surfaces.  
  • Filling compound to level off irregularities on concrete substrates.
  • Rendering and screeding of uneven surfaces where high compressive strength is desired.
  • Bonding mortar between new and old concrete

Application steps

SURFACE PREPARATION

The repair area must be free from all unsound materials, i.e. dust, oil, grease, corrosion or any organic growth. Remove all loose materials and
surface laitance. For repair of large areas, water jet or mechanical scrub the area before application.

MIXING

Measure and pour about 80% of the volume of Liquid Part A in a clean mixing pot. Start mixer and slowly add Powder Part B to avoid lumps. Once the mix is of uniform consistency, add the right amount of Part A to achieve the needed consistency and workability.

APPLICATION

For vertical or horizontal application, apply with a trowel to achieve the right thickness (maximum thickness 30 mm per layer).

For repairs which need multi-layer applications, it is important to ensure that previous layers are dry, stable and well keyed before applying the next layer.
