METAL ROOF WATERPROOFING SYSTEM

Sikalastic®-568 Metal Coat is a 1-part water-based flexible acrylic waterproofing membrane that can be applied directly from the pail.
Sikalastic®-568 Metal Coat - 3-Layer System
The 3-layer system forms a microporous membrane that waterproofs external surfaces from water seepage and also provides protection against deterioration due to acid or chemical attack and other types of environment pollution.

Storage Conditions

Store properly in original, unopened and undamaged sealed packaging in dry conditions. Keep away from direct sunlight and frost.

Application steps

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

All surfaces to be waterproofed must be sound. Jet washing or mechanical abrading is recommended to increase adhesion if applied on existing surfaces. Old coatings which are stable and cannot be removed can remain.

Preparation: Wire brushing or abrasive blasting
Primer: Sikalastic®-3 Primer XP
Finishing with Sikalastic®-568 Metal Coat : 2 coats

Joints
Primer: Sikalastic®-3 Primer XP
Finishing with Sikalastic®-568 Metal Coat: 3 coats (with mesh)

APPLICATION

  • Apply Sikalastic®-3 Primer XP and allow it to dry.
  • Use Sikalastic®-568 Metal Coat straight from the can for the first coat.
  • Wait for the first coat to dry before adding the second.
  • Allow 4 to 8 hours between coats.
  • Application can be by brush, roller, or spray.
 

CLEANING OF TOOLS

Clean all brushes, rollers, trays, buckets and surrounding areas with clean water before the product sets.
