SikaProof® Tape-120

SELF-ADHESIVE TAPE FOR INTERNAL JOINTING OR DETAILING OF SIKAPROOF®-808 OR SIKAPROOF®-810

SikaProof® Tape-120 is a self-adhesive tape based on a hotmelt adhesive with a carrier film and a release liner.

Usage

The product is used for:
  • Sealing and bonding overlap joints, connections and details within the SikaProof®-808 / -810 membrane system
Please note:
  • Do not use the Product in areas where it is permanently exposed to weathering or UV light.

Storage Conditions

The Product must be stored in original unopened and undamaged packaging in dry conditions and temperatures between +5 °C and +30 °C. Store in a horizontal position. Do not stack pallets on top of each other.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

IMPORTANT

Strictly follow installation procedures

Strictly follow installation procedures as defined in Method Statements, application manuals and working instructions which must always be adjusted to the actual site conditions.

 

IMPORTANT

Application by trained personnel

The application of this Product must only be carried out by an applicator that is trained or approved by Sika. The applicator must also be experienced in this type of application.

SUBSTRATE QUALITY

The contact surface is the grey SikaProof®-808/-810 A+ bonding layer. It must be dry or slightly damp, clean and free of any materials that could impair adhesion.
 

Application outside of specified application conditions

Note: Under certain circumstances, the Product can be applied in conditions other than the ones specified in this data sheet. However, this requires specific precautions and application methods.

APPLICATION

IMPORTANT

Exposure to UV or weathering

The Product is not resistant to permanent UV exposure or weathering.

  1. Protect as soon as possible but not later than 60 days after application
     

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

  1. Remove the release liner.
  2. Apply the adhesive side of the tape onto the grey SikaProof®-808/-810 membrane surface.
  3. Press the tape firmly along its length using a rubber or silicon hand pressure roller.
