Sika MonoTop®-155 Waterproof Screed

ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY, WATERPROOF FLOOR SCREED

Sika MonoTop®-155 Waterproof Screed is an environmentally friendly, non toxic, cementitious waterproof floor screed that is specially formulated with recycled material for reduced embodied carbon foot print. It is approved by Eco-labelling authority in Singapore as a sustainable building material. Sika MonoTop®-155 Waterproof Screed is a single component,easy to install, and cost effective waterproofing system that provides integral waterproofing by forming a hydrophobic layer within the screed to prevent water penetration into the concrete floor. By simply adding water and mixing with a mechanical mixer, Sika MonoTop®-155 Waterproof Screed yields a homogeneous mortar paste that gives good workability when applied on the floor, cement based waterproof floor screed for levelling rough and uneven concrete floors.

Usage

Sika MonoTop®-155 Waterproof Screed is suitable for waterproofing toilets, kitchens, bathrooms, balconies, plaza decks, parking garages, basements, tunnels etc, whenever a waterproof screed or rigid membrane is needed.

Application steps

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

Receiving floor surfaces should be thoroughly cleaned of all dirt, dust and impurities, which may affect adhesion. Conventional curing compounds should be removed prior to application of Sika MonoTop®-155 Waterproof Screed. Prior to the application, a slurry bonding coat should be applied to ensure good adhesion.

MIXING

Mix with a site drum mixer for 3 - 5 minutes until desired homogeneous mix is achieved. Ensure that it is free of lump before use.

 

APPLICATION

Ensure that the substrate is damp and clean without any ponding water. A bonding slurry coat should be applied before screeding and it consists of 1 part of SikaLatex®-751 or SikaLatex®-1000 mixed with approximately 0.5 to 1 part of Sika MonoTop®-155 Waterproof Screed. A site trial can be conducted if necessary to ensure the consistency of the slurry coat is suitable.

The mixed Sika MonoTop®-155 Waterproof Screed mortar is then poured onto the slurry coat wet-on-wet after about 30 minutes. Compact and finish the screed in accordance to standard practice using a suitable float or trowel.

CURING TREATMENT

In hot ambient temperature, the screed should be cured with water spray for at least 3 days. It is important to protect the product during placement and whilst curing from direct sunlight and winds. This is to prevent rapid dehydration or desiccation (excessive moisture loss).
