SikaRoof® VersiDrain® MEP

WATER RETAINING PLANTING TRAY MODULES FOR EXTENSIVE GREEN ROOF

SikaRoof® VersiDrain® MEP is a lightweight planting tray designed for extensive green roofs and functions as both a water retention layer and a drainage mat. Modules are manufactured from recycled polypropylene (PP) with reservoirs providing good water retention capacities. The reservoir layer may be connected to provide a continuous reservoir allowing trays that receive rainwater to transfer it to trays that may be sheltered.
SikaRoof® VersiDrain® MEP modules interlock with adjacent modules for easy installations and has a smooth base for safe placement directly over the waterproofing membrane.

Usage

Water retention and drainage layer for extensive green roofs, landscape decks and lightweight green installations requiring water storage in combination with a suitable geotextile as a filtration layer to prevent planting media from clogging the reservoir and drainage layer.

Application steps

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

Clean and sound surface shall have at least a wood float finish. All holes, joints, and cracks and honeycombs in concrete or masonry surfaces shall be filled with an approved grout and allowed to cure. High spots in concrete or masonry surfaces shall be cut off or ground down to prevent damage/puncture to the water retention planting tray module.

APPLICATION

SikaRoof® VersiDrain® MEP shall be loosely laid and interlocked with adjacent modules connected by proprietary clips to form a continuous water retention and drainage layer without any mechanical fixing either on top of the waterproofing membrane or on top of the concrete surface. The installed water retention and drainage modules would then be covered with an approved or Sika® geotextile filter fabric before pouring the planting media into the modules.
