SikaWall®-186

ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY CEMENTITIOUS SKIM COAT PLASTER

SikaWall®-186 is a premium grade, environmentally friendly cementitious skim coat, with reduced embedded carbon footprint. It is approved by the Eco-labelling authority in Singapore as a sustainable building material. SikaWall®-186 is ideal for plastered and concrete surfaces and is ideal for internal skimming. SikaWall®-186 consists of Part A liquid and Part B powder that are mixed with a mechanical mixer to achieve a homogeneous paste to give excellent workability on both vertical and overhead surfaces.

Usage

Application of SikaWall®-186 is suitable for all types of concrete substrates such as :
  • Lightweight concrete slabs
  • Ceilings
  • Walls
  • Columns
  • Beams
SikaWall®-186 can also be applied on lightweight autoclaved aerated blocks, blockwall and plastered surfaces.

Layer Thickness

1.0mm to 3.0mm thick per layer of application (maximum total thickness = 6mm)
Application steps

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

Remove all dust, oil or traces of foreign materials. Dampen the dry concrete or plastered surface before application of SikaWall®-186.

MIXING

Mix thoroughly using an electrical mixer for 3 to 5 minutes until the desired homogeneous paste is achieved and ready to use.

APPLICATION

SikaWall®-186 is applied using a steel trowel to a maximum thickness of 3mm and cured under shaded ambient conditions. After about 4 hours, the second coat is applied such that total thickness does not exceed 6mm.

 

It is important to protect the product during placement and whilst curing from direct sunlight and wind. This is to prevent rapid dehydration or desiccation (excessive moisture loss). It is recommended to cure dry plaster by water spray to prevent shrinkage cracking.
