Sikadur® UA MY

Two-part Epoxy Resin Mortar For Underwater Applications

Sikadur® UA MY is a solvent free, non-slump, two component epoxy resin patching mortar, containing blended high strength fillers. When Sikadur® UA MY is mixed it has a soft putty like consistency making it ideal for general patching and repair work.

  • Easy to mix and apply using either trowel, spatula or gloved hand
  • Suitable for application to both dry and damp surfaces
  • Adheres well to wet or submerged concrete or steel
  • Can be applied underwater
  • Excellent non-sag properties for vertical and overhead work
  • Does not shrink when hardened
  • High abrasion resistance
  • Excellent adhesion to concrete, steel, timber and many other substrates

Usage

Sikadur® UA MY can be used for:
  • Underwater application as well as to dry surfaces. Mixed mortar can be transported underwater in polyethylene bags
  • Filling and patching concrete floors, pipes, tanks etc.
  • Repairing and reprofiling damaged precast and in-situ concrete components
  • Bonding concrete blocks, bricks, ceramics, etc.
  • Grouting of bolts and starters
  • Bonding precast concrete pipes

Application steps

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

All concrete surfaces must be clean and free from any loosely adhering particles or contaminants such as dirt, oil, dust, grease, etc. All cement laitance should be removed by scrabbling, sandblasting, etc. Steel surfaces must have all paints, films, oils, rust and other contaminants removed by grit blasting. Apply Sikadur® UA MY immediately after blasting is completed.

MIXING

Mix proportions of resin (Part A) and hardener (Part B) on a clean board with a spatula or steel trowel. Mix thoroughly until an even sreak free grey colour is achieved.

CLEANING OF TOOLS

Clean all tools and equipment immediately after use with fresh water. It is recommended that protective gloves and clothing be worn during application, however, uncured Sikadur® UA MY may be removed from skin with Sika Hand Cleaner or warm soapy water. Cured Sikadur® UA MY can only be removed mechanically.
