SikaShield® SK2000

SELF ADHESIVE WATERPROOFING MEMBRANE

SikaShield® SK2000 is a fully bonded, self-adhesive SBS (styrene butadiene styrene) modified bituminous sheet with high tack resins, waterproofing membrane for building use externally and internally. 
  SikaShield® SK2000 is highly resistance to impact and stretching for protection against damp, water under pressure and liquid pollutants.
The high density polythene film on the top surface gives the membrane excellent adherence and mechanical strength.

Storage Conditions

  • Rolls of the material should be stored in a dry place, protected from direct sun light.
  • Rolls should be preferably stored upright on pallets in a 1-row height.  If double stacking of pallets are required in store, please provide suitable timber plank for pallets to be stacked up, Do not over-stack excessively if storage periods are very long.
  • Falls or other mechanical impacts should be avoided during transportation and storage.

Application steps

SUBSTRATE QUALITY

  • All substrates must be kept clean, dry, free from dust, grease, oil, laitance and any other loose contaminants.
  • All potholes, cracks, honeycombs must be patched or filled up with high strength non-shrink mortar. All substrates must be structurally sound.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

Primer

Prime all surface with a layer of Davco SK Primer to seal up pinholes and enhance adhesion. Apply 2 layers for porous substrates. Leave for 1 - 3 hours.

If SikaShield® SK2000 must be applied to a damp surface, prime with Davco Supaprime or Davco K11 System instead of using Davco SK Primer.
