The former Ang Mo Kio Swimming Complex has been transformed into the vibrant ActiveSG Park @ Ang Mo Kio. The upgraded facility now features a range of sports and recreational amenities, including both outdoor and sheltered swimming pools, a water play area, two children’s play courts, a fully equipped gym, fitness studios, a sheltered futsal court, a basketball court, and multi-sport courts.
Tiered Shaded Resting Areas
Beside the multi-sport courts, trees were planted with SikaRoof® StrataVault 30 Root Cell modules installed beneath the soil. These modules create tiered, shaded resting areas where patrons can unwind. Root Cell modules protect against soil compaction from surrounding structures, ensuring ample space and soil aeration for healthy root development. They also promote efficient drainage, reducing the risk of water ponding – especially after heavy rainfall.
Community Garden Terrace & Walkways
The outdoor raised deck was built using SikaRoof® VersiJack® height-and-slope-adjustable pedestals, which provide a stable and level support system. Aluminium joists were rested and secured on bearer holders affixed to the pedestals, followed by the installation of composite deck boards to create a durable walking surface.
Tiling for Interior and Exterior Areas
SikaCeram®-100 TTB (former Davco® TTB ECO) was applied as the tile adhesive for both interior and exterior floors and walls. This high-quality cementitious adhesive provides excellent bond strength, workability, and compatibility with a wide range of tile types and substrates.
